PONTIANAK - West Kalimantan Province is ready to host Ministerial Meeting of 25th BIMP EAGA of 2022. Regional Secretary of West Kalimantan, Harisson delivered the statement related the readiness of West Kalimantan hosting the Ministerial Meeting of 25th KESR BIMP-EAGA of 2022 when leading the meeting to set the consideration arrangement to the Governor at Praja II Room of West Kalimantan Governor Office, Monday (24/1/2022).
"We are preparing a formula for consideration by the governor of West Kalimantanrealted to proposal to host the 25th ministerial level meeting for BIMP-EAGA sub-regional economic cooperation. We will look at the preparation in terms of accommodations, personnels, and others. We are still waiting for the date of the agenda." said the Regional Secretary of West Kalimantan Province, dr. Harisson.
BIMP-EAGA (Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area) is one of the sub-regional economic cooperation which was formed in 1994 with the main objective of increasing economic cooperation and integration among its member regions and the Sub-Regional Economic Cooperation (KESR) is a forum for economic cooperation among geographically adjacent cross-country regions, including IMT-GT and BIMP EAGA.
"In this agenda, we might present our potential products. Therefore, we will collaborate with Regional State Craft Council (dekranasda) and potential tourism sectors in order to support the economic growth in West Kalimantan. By this occasion, we expect that other countries will be attracted to visit our province," delivered the Regional Secretary.
The participants of the meeting are Assistance I (Assistance for governance and people's welfare), Linda Purnama, Assistance II (Assistance for Economy and Development), Junaidi and the chairmen of regional units of West Kalimantan, the head of Industry and Chamber of Commerce and the head of Regional State Craft Council of West Kalimantan.(aws)
