Governor Determines the Status of Micro PPKM throughout the West Kalimantan Region

PONTIANAK - Governor of West Kalimantan H. Sutarmidji S.H., M.Hum. issued 12 regencies and 2 cities in West Kalimantan are subject to Government’s Micro-Scale Public Activity Restrictions (PPKM Mikro) Status. This decision was taken based on the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Number 9 of 2021.

“Throughout West Kalimantan, we set PPKM Mikro, "said the Governor of West Kalimantan in West Kalimantan Regional Police Command’s Office, Wednesday (21/4/2021).

He said that the Covid-19 Prevention Task Force has been formed to the village and neighborhood units (RT) and Community Units (RW), before the Central Government established West Kalimantan Province as one of the provinces that PPKM Mikro applied to after Jambi, Bangka Belitung, West Sumatra, and Lampung Provinces. The implementation of this PPKM Mikro will take effect from April 20, 2021 to May 3, 2021.

"Alhamdulilah, the task force reaches the village and RT level, more than half of which have been formed, before the penetration of PPKM Mikro from the Central Government. In order for the handling to be integrated and comprehensive, all regencies and cities in West Kalimantan must have the PPKM Micro, "he said.

The Governor added that implementing PPKM Mikro in West Kalimantan, the Provincial Government will work together with West Kalimantan Regional Police (Polda Kalbar) and Kodam XII Tanjungpura (Regional Military Command), in implementing the PPKM Mikro.

"Kodam with its staff and Polda with its staff, as well as the regional and provincial governments will carry out their duties in accordance with the latest instructions for PPKM Mikro itself," he said.

PPKM Mikro is applied by the West Kalimantan Province was due to an increase in the number of positive Covid-19 tests, after swab tests were carried out at several coffee shops (warkop) and crowded places in several areas. Therefore, the Central Government has designated West Kalimantan Province to be included in the list of Enforcement Government’s Micro-Scale Public Activity Restrictions (PPKM).

"I ask all coffee shops in West Kalimantan to close at nine in the evening. Then the local government, ask to do frequent swab tests there (coffee shops), especially tests on coffee shop waiters. In Pontianak City, for example, the spread of Covid-19 that happens a lot in coffee shops. On average, from the results of tests conducted by the Health Office, the test results of the servants are positive for Covid-19.
